Description
The KY-018 Light Sensor Module is a compact and easy-to-use light intensity detection module based on a photoresistor (LDR – Light Dependent Resistor). It converts ambient light levels into a corresponding analog voltage signal, allowing microcontrollers to measure and respond to changes in brightness.
This module operates on both 3.3V and 5V systems, making it compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi (with ADC), and other development boards. It is ideal for automation, smart lighting, robotics, and environmental monitoring projects.
Key Features
- Light Intensity Detection – Converts ambient light into analog voltage
- Wide Voltage Compatibility – Works with 3.3V–5V systems
- Analog Output (AO) – Direct light intensity reading
- High Sensitivity – Detects small changes in brightness
- Compact & Lightweight – Easy integration into embedded projects
- Low Power Consumption – Suitable for battery-powered devices
