The MOC3081 is an optocoupler with a zero-crossing triac driver output, designed for interfacing between low-voltage control circuits and high-voltage AC loads. It consists of a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a monolithic silicon triac driver. This optocoupler is suitable for applications requiring safe and reliable control of AC loads, offering isolation between control and load circuits. Key Features:
  • Zero-crossing triac driver output
  • Optically coupled isolation
  • High input-to-output isolation voltage
  • Low input current requirement
  • High noise immunity
  • Suitable for 115/240 VAC applications
Technical Specifications:
  • Input Forward Current (IF): 10 mA (Maximum)
  • Peak Forward Current (IFP): 1 A (1 µs pulse)
  • Reverse Voltage (VR): 6 V
  • Input Power Dissipation: 120 mW (No derating required up to Ta = 100°C)
  • Output Power Dissipation: 150 mW
  • Collector-Emitter Voltage (VCEO): 600 V
  • Peak Repetitive Off-State Voltage: 600 V
  • Peak Surge Current: 1 A
  • Isolation Voltage: 5000 Vrms
  • Operating Temperature Range: -40°C to +100°C
  • Storage Temperature Range: -40°C to +125°C
  • Lead Soldering Temperature: 260°C
