The TP5000 Lipo charging module is a compact, high-efficiency module designed to charge both 3.7V lithium-ion and 3.2V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOâ‚„) batteries. It supports a selectable charging voltage of 4.2V or 3.6V, adjustable via a simple solder pad configuration.

Features:

  • Supports charging of both Lithium-ion and LiFePOâ‚„ batteries
  • Auto cutoff when charging completes, protecting the battery from overcharge
  • Selectable output voltage(4.2V for Li-ion, 3.6V for LiFePOâ‚„) via solder jumper
  • Dual LED charge indicators(Red for charging, Green for full)
  • Compact design, suitable for integration into DIY electronics projects
  • Performance version supports up to 2A fast charging
  • User-configurable charge current via resistor.

Specifications:

  • Supported Battery Types:
    • 7V Lithium-ion (4.2V full charge)
    • 2V LiFePOâ‚„ (3.6V full charge)
  • Charge Voltage:2V / 3.6V (selectable via solder pad)
  • Voltage Accuracy:±1%
  • Charging Current:
    • Default: 1A
    • Max: 2A (adjustable by changing sampling resistor using formula: 0.1V / R = Current)
  • Input Voltage:5V – 9V (recommended 5V – 6V; must not exceed 9V)
  • Charging Indicator:
    • Red LED: Charging
    • Green LED: Fully Charged (requires manual soldering of indicator LED)
  • Charging Method:Auto cut-off when fully charged.

 Applications:

  1. DIY Battery Charging Projects: Ideal for hobbyists and makers building custom lithium or LiFePOâ‚„ battery chargers.
  2. Rechargeable Battery Packs: Can be integrated into portable power banks, flashlight packs, or handheld tools that use 3.7V Li-ion or 3.2V LiFePOâ‚„ cells.
  3. Embedded Electronics: Suitable for microcontroller-based systems (Arduino, ESP32, etc.) where compact and reliable battery charging is needed.
  4. Battery Maintenance in IoT Devices: Useful for IoT nodes or sensors that require rechargeable battery support with automatic charge management.
